About Yuriy Shor

A recent college graduate with experience working for accounting firms and other businesses, Yuriy Shor presently serves as a Case Negotiator for the Secure Law Center in Atlanta. With the firm since May 2012, Mr. Shor assists clients of the Secure Law Center in negotiating mortgage modifications with the loss mitigation departments of financial institutions in order to prevent or postpone foreclosure. Prior to completing his Bachelor’s degree, Yuriy Shor actively participated in university events and student groups while also interning at companies that operated within his field of study.

Yuriy Shor earned an Associate in Business Administration from Georgia Perimeter College (GPC) in 2009. During his two years at the school, Mr. Shor received recognitions as Student of the Month and Student Leader of the Year, and he served for several semesters as President of the GPC Student Government Association. Upon completing his degree, he enrolled in Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business with plans to study accounting. Throughout the next three years, Yuriy Shor balanced his demanding course load with work and internships. For instance, he served as an Atlanta-based Customer Service Representative with Progress Energy for nine months, during which time he was noted as one of the company’s top sellers of maintenance and water heater service plans.

Before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia State in 2012, Yuriy Shor completed an accounting internship at the IR & S Corporation, where he developed expertise in the use of QuickBooks and ProSeries. He also participated in two internships focused on tax preparation at the accounting and consulting firm Martin & Orr, LLC. From May 2011 to January 2012, Yuriy Shor simultaneously attended Georgia State and worked as an Accounting Coordinator for nuclear power plant design and engineering company United Controls International. In this role, he managed the firm’s fixed assets, compiled projection reports, handled customer invoicing, and performed other financial and accounting functions.
